“There is no normal in my job,” says David Andrews, manager of video services in the office of University Relations. “The variety of things I do seems endless. I multitask everything…Some days I am shooting, other days I am writing scripts, compositing, and editing. My favorite part of the job is when I complete a project and people appreciate the endless hours it took to complete. I love to make it right.”
“Network quality” is David’s motto, and he says his 19 years at Southeast has encouraged him to improve his craft every day. He draws on his experience at broadcast network television stations to develop the award winning video
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, David grew up in Saint Louis, Mo. He graduated from Webster University in St. Louis with his bachelor’s degree and received his Master of Arts degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
David spent time in the private sector working on video production, but he prefers the close environment at Southeast. “I am most proud of the great people I work with,” he says. “They are always supportive and provide me with inspiration. I sincerely believe this family of people who I have known for my time here have made a difference in my life and I believe they could handle anything that comes their way. I am truly blessed to know and work with these people and I could not imagine not being here.”
While David enjoys his job so much that he considers it one of his hobbies, he also has plenty of other things to keep him busy. He is a musician, author, and proud father of two children.
