Effective writing is an essential skill not only for the classroom but also for the workplace--in fact, it is one of the top three skills employers look for when hiring recent graduates.  Through curriculum, support, and assessment, Southeast strives to produce successful academic and professional writers.

Writing in the Disciplines (coming soon)
Effective writing is one of the core objectives of the University Studies program.  The Writing in the Disciplines Program provides faculty support and professional development to ensure that writing instruction provides the maximum benefit to the student.

The Online Writing Lab: Southeast's OWL provides students with online writing support on a 24-hour basis.  Students can e-mail a question or a draft for review by the Writing Center's tutors. The OWL's FAQs and interactive tutorials allow students to review mechanics, MLA and APA references, researched writing and more.

The Writing Assessment Program: From placement testing for incoming first-year students through proficiency testing for graduates, the Writing Assessment Program provides feedback to the student and the university on the success of writing instruction at Southeast.
