The River Campus is home to the Earl and Margie Holland College of Arts and Media and is the only campus dedicated solely to art, dance, music and theatre in Missouri. The dance facilities are exceptional and provide excellent training and performance opportunities.
All dance studios are equipped with sprung floors, a Marley dance surface, up-to-date sound systems, upright pianos, computers and televisions for use in studio dance courses and have a key card system allowing students 24 hour access. Students wanting to reserve a dance studio (CAC 157 or RCC 119) for rehearsal or solo practice, must email Philip Edgecombe at email@example.com
The CAC 103 dance studio is 1500 square feet and has two beautiful walls of windows to let in natural light during classes and rehearsals. The studio offers a specialized venue for both student and faculty creativity and contains a small storage area for ballet barres, exercise equipment, and cubbies for personal items.
The Bedell Performance Hall is a large, state-of-the-art proscenium theatre which seats 950 people on two levels and two balconies. This theatre is used for main stage dance productions and includes a sprung stage and dedicated Marley flooring. The program utilizes the Bedell Performance Hall during spacing rehearsals, technical rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and performances so adequate time on stage is given for each production preparation cycle.
The CHART Clinic provides comprehensive health care services to all students participating in the visual and performing arts. Services are provided by a certified athletic trainer and include: massage, heat/cold therapies, taping, wellness education for injury prevention, fitness/injury assessments and rehabilitation services. The facility works in conjunction with a local hospital and healthcare provider, Southeast Health.
