Southeast’s Department of Mass Media is fully accredited by the agency responsible for the evaluation of professional journalism and mass communications programs in colleges and universities known as The Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC).
Accreditation provides an assurance of quality to students, parents, and the public as the performance of the educational unit is measured against national standards every 5 years.
Southeast's Mass Media program is one of 119 accredited by ACEJMC and one of two in Missouri.
Certification in Education for Public Relations (CEPR) is a voluntary program of quality-assurance endorsement for studies in public relations at colleges and universities worldwide. Southeast's Department of Mass Media has CEPR in its public relations option and is one of about 40 worldwide.
