The Southeast Missouri State University Marching Band is open to any student with instrumental music background. The Marching Band typically
enrolls students from all majors across campus. Students do not have to be a music
major in order to participate. Scholarships are available.
A one-time audition is required for participation. A Southeast Marching Band audition consists of:
2 two-octave major scales
1 chromatic scale (practical range)
2 contrasting musical selections (all-district material works well OR a solo from solo festival can substitute)
Sight-reading (provided by the Southeast Band Director)
The Marching Band rehearses MWF from 4:00 pm to 5:50 pm on the Southeast River Campus. Students are required to enroll in order to participate. The Marching Band course number is MU386 (for brass, colorguard, feature twirler, and woodwinds) and MU346 (for front ensemble and drum line).
