The Southeast Missouri Symphony is a full symphonic orchestra performing the great masterpieces of the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Twentieth Century repertoire. The symphony orchestra rehearses each week from 4:00 – 5:50 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Dobbins Center River Campus Room 120. Each year the orchestra gives numerous concerts and hosts outreach and educational events. Students are admitted to the Southeast Missouri Symphony on the basis of an audition at the beginning of the semester. Participation in the symphony is open to all students at Southeast, regardless of declared major. Auditions for the Symphony Orchestra will take place as follows:
Your large ensemble placement audition on Sunday, August 23, will serve for your placement in both the Wind Symphony and the Symphony Orchestra. Further information about the auditions can be found here.
