Redhawks Kids Camp (RKC) is designed for children entering grades 1 through 6. Campers must have completed kindergarten and may not have started grade 6.
Redhawk Kids Camp is a very active day camp, full of fun games, activities, water games, swimming, walking field trips, and crafts. Our camp counselors are Southeast Missouri State University students, and have the energy to match the campers. We keep to a low camper to counselor ratio.
We will be swimming or utilizing a water themed activity nearly every day, weather-permitting, so a swimsuit and towel will be needed daily (see “What to Bring” section).
When weather permits, we will try to be outside as much as possible. Campers will be walking to various locations on campus. We utilize shuttle busses to transport campers off campus for field trips, as scheduled.
The RKC “Headquarters” will be the Student Recreation Center (750 New Madrid).
In the event that the University would need to cancel your designated camp a full refund will be returned back to participant and/or family in the form of a University check. In the event that you, the participant, and/or family would need to cancel your registration, you will receive a full refund up until 4 weeks from the camp. If you cancel within 4 weeks of the camp you will receive partial refund. Late cancellations fee is $50.00 from your camp registration cost.
Pre-registration is required and payment is due at time of registration to confirm your camper's spot. We do not allow walk-up registration the week of camp that is taking place.
Campers will need to bring the following items on a daily basis to each camp day:
We ask that campers do NOT bring money or items of value:
An RKC staff member will be accessible via telephone the entire camp day. (573) 651-2147 is the RKC headquarters phone number.
As we walk to points on and close to campus, campers will be led by student counselors and walk in groups at all times. All Campers will need to be signed out by a selected parent or guardian and that person must show a photo ID, or we must have the ID on file in order to take their child away from camp at the end of each day. There will be no exceptions to this rule. Please do not forget your ID.
Once registered, all parents/guardians will receive a copy of the “RKC Parent Guide” which contains more detailed camp information.
