Purpose and Philosophy

The purpose of this program is to provide students with employment opportunities that support professional workplace skills, career development, a positive mentorship experience and an emphasis on being academically successful here at Southeast.

Eligibility criteria:

  • 2.75 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale
  • Extensive high school & community involvement
  • Letter of recommendation
  • Successful interview

Selection and Matching of Students with Departments

Our goal is to provide student employees with employment opportunities that align with future career goals. Students employed through the Academic Mentoring Program will have access to a Faculty/Staff Mentor with the goal of pairing them in a department that would provide them with workplace, career readiness, and communication skills connected to their major or field of study.

Educational Access Programs enhance the quality of the educational experience for students from underrepresented populations through programs, services, advocacy, and referral to appropriate resources.
