The farm to preschool program connects Missouri’s earliest learners with knowledge as to where their food comes from and introducing them to fresh, local and in season fruits and vegetables. This is a growing movement that offers our children increased access to health, local foods, gardening opportunities and food based activities to enhance the quality of the educational experiences. Through this grant the USYC will get funding to start gardening projects, purchase supplies, attend trainings, participate in field trips and have access to garden themed education. The project will run from April 2018 – January 2019.
More information on Farm to PreschoolThe University School for Young Children was formed in May 2012 when we brought together the Center for Child Studies and the University Child Enrichment Center to form one program. These two programs have a long history of excellence in providing preschool education and child care, as well as serving as training sites for University students. At our school, we strive to learn and grow together in a caring, supportive community. We are passionate about our work with learners of all ages. We would love to share with you the benefits of the School and tell you more about our program. Please tour our facility online and don’t hesitate to contact us to set up a visit in person. We would be happy to answer your questions and look forward to working with you and your children.
