Missouri Publishes First Guidelines for ASD Screening, Diagnosis, Assessment
For the past 18 months, a statewide group of professionals and parents has worked collaboratively to develop and publish Autism Spectrum Disorders: Missouri Best Practices for Screening, Diagnosis, and Assessment. The project is sponsored by the Thompson Foundation for Autism and the Division of Developmental Disabilities, Missouri Department of Mental Health.
Driven by the knowledge that children’s outcomes and families’ lives are greatly improved with earlier diagnosis and treatment of ASDs, one of the Initiative’s key goals was to work from the most current research to facilitate the critical first steps of screening, diagnosis, and assessment. Tailored specifically for Missouri, the Guidelines are intended to help clinicians, families, educators and service providers with informed decision-making.

The Contract was awarded to Zoellner’s of Perryville, MO.
Mackey Mitchell Architects did an efficient design that is sensitive to the needs of the varied clients who will enter our building for diagnostic and/or treatment activities. Mackey Mitchell Architects have also helped us design a center that will foster the collaborative relationships we seek. Construction is now complete! The Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was help July 7, 2010 and was a huge success! Over 200 people were in attendance to share in the celebration. see full article here.
