Thomas M. Meyer
Thomas M. Meyer of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, was appointed by Governor Jay Nixon in December 2011 to a six-year term expiring January 1, 2018. Meyer is the President and Owner of Thomas L. Meyer Realty Company, Inc. He is a life member of the Southeast Missouri University Alumni Association, serving as President from 2009-2011; member of the Southeast Missouri Foundation and its Advisory Council; member of the Southeast Missouri University Copper Dome Society; member of the Southeast Missouri Athletic Booster; member of the Southeast Missouri University Foundation President’s Council; Chapter Representative of the SEMO Vets. Corp Alumni; and Advisor Chair for the SEMO Student Veterans Organization. He was the State President of the Missouri Association of Realtors in 1995, and the 2001 Regional Vice President of the National Realtors Association. Meyer has held numerous leadership positions in many community, state, and professional organizations, and is a past President of St. Francis Medical Center Friends of St. Francis. He is also the 2012 Chairman – Elect of the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce.
Meyer is a U.S. Navy Seabee Veteran and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business degree from Southeast Missouri State University. He also attended the University Alaska, and is a graduate of the Realtor Institute, a Certified Residential Specialist, and a Certified International Property Specialist.
