Campus Life and Event Services works to help students get engaged and get connected through community service, leadership opportunities, programming, special events, student involvement, and other campus events and scheduling.

We especially want to help you find events and opportunities early at Southeast. So the University community can enthusiastically welcome new students, we developed Engage in 8 to assist in your transition to campus. The “Engage in 8!” program is designed to engage you in a wide array of opportunities. The schedule is updated regularly. Check back often for updates.

Finding Your Pages

After logging in to the CMS, you'll see a dashboard. Go to the top left corner and click site: and select semo.edu. Next, use the url from the page that you are wanting to edit and select the folder list on the left side. Follow the path and click the pages you can update. Remember, you'll only be able to edit pages for your specific department.

Saving vs. Publishing

When you make changes, you have two options: Save Draft or Publish. Saving creates a draft only you can see. Publishing makes your changes live on the website for everyone. Always preview your work before publishing to catch any mistakes.

Special Events

With so many things to do on campus, you'll always be able to find something to do. But there are a few big special events you'll want to mark on your calendar now.

Web Edits Best Practices

  • Text Editing

Change text with the editor tools. Bold, italic, and lists are just a click away. Remember to keep your content clear and brief for better readability.
  • Image Updates

To update images, go to it.semo.edu and request image updates for media grids, topic rows, and card groups. Our web team will make sure new photos are high quality, sized correctly, and include alt text for accessibility.
  • Link Management

Check links to make sure they work. Creating links to other university pages helps visitors find related information easily.
  • Preview Your Work

Always use the preview button before publishing. This shows exactly how your page will look to visitors and helps catch formatting issues.

Expression Policy

The exchange of ideas is critical to the University’s mission and is central to the University’s role to “challenge students to extend their intellectual capacities, interests, and creative abilities; develop their talents; and acquire a lifelong enthusiasm for learning”
