This announcement follows collaboration between the University and the Delta Regional Authority to develop a network of Operation JumpStart training programs throughout the eight states in the lower Mississippi Delta region to accelerate entrepreneurship and small business development. Operation JumpStart is the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship’s nationally recognized entrepreneurship development program that has led to the creation of over 250 microenterprises in southeast Missouri. This announcement is being made during the Cape Chamber of Commerce’s First Friday Coffee.
ACCION Texas, Inc., the nation’s largest nonprofit microlender, is committed to providing capital to entrepreneurs who do not have access to loans from commercial sources. ACCION’s loans range from $500-$100,000. Since inception, ACCION has made 12,000 loans to entrepreneurs totaling $112 million. For more information, visit: www.acciontexas.org.
