Two Southeast Seniors Selected for Entrepreneurship Scholarshipsby News Bureau on
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Aug. 29, 2011 -- The Harrison College of Business at Southeast Missouri State University recently announced Tim Couch and Deanna Dippold as the first recipients of two new scholarships at the University.
Couch was selected to receive the $1,000 Douglas and Heather Greene Scholarship for the 2011-2012 academic year, and Dippold was awarded the $1,000 James L. Stapleton Scholarship for the same period.
Both of these scholarships were established in May through the generosity of Doug and Heather Greene, benefactors of the University and of the Douglas C. Greene Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE).
“Mr. and Mrs. Greene have been active supporters and advisors to our entrepreneurship program here at the University, and it gives me great pleasure to join them in recognizing these two outstanding students as the first recipients of these scholarships,” said Dr. James Stapleton, executive director of the CIE and associate professor of management at Southeast.
Tim Couch received the Douglas and Heather Greene Scholarship. Couch is a senior honors student from St. Peters Mo., pursuing a business administration major in accounting and a minor in entrepreneurship. An outstanding student with a cumulative GPA of 4.0, Couch has been an active member of the Redhawk’s Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization for three years and has been a member of the executive board for two years.
Dippold, who was awarded the James L. Stapleton Scholarship, is a senior from Cape Girardeau. Dippold is an outstanding student with a cumulative GPA of 3.97. She is pursuing a business administration major in management – human resource management with minors in entrepreneurship and Spanish. She has been an active member of the Redhawk’s Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization for three years and has been a member of the executive board for two years.
