The Support Services section of Facilities Management employs six full-time employees who work six days per week to accommodate University operations. Support Services personnel handle moves of departments and offices (including interior moves), deliver equipment and supplies, haul surplus property and move music department instruments.
Requests for departmental moves should be submitted through a work order request. They coordinate the set-ups and tear-downs for events such as commencement, concerts, movies, summer camps, banquets, meeting rooms, and athletic events. Every precaution will be taken to prevent breakage, damage, and theft. All liabilities rest with the customer.
No more than two complete offices (includes rearrangement of office furnishings). Small moves require a minimum 72-hour notice.
More than two complete offices (includes all off campus moves and items moved to surplus). Large moves require a minimum three-week notice.
All work order requests should include
- Location of the move (from and to)
- Name of the customer, contact person and phone number
- Requested start date
- Department account number
- Nature of the move
- Number of boxes and rolls of tape if needed
