Supplemental Instruction

Program Description

Supplemental Instruction is provided through Learning Assistance Programs and sessions are designed to assist students in increasing their understanding of course lectures, class readings and mastering course concepts.

Sessions are offered in selected courses each Fall and Spring semester. Student Session Leaders provide two to three study sessions each week, usually starting the second or third week of the semester. Session Leaders work with the faculty to design the study sessions around the course syllabus.

Sessions are open to all students enrolled in the particular courses connected with Supplemental Instruction.

Historically students attending five or more sessions earn one half to one full letter grade higher than those students that do not attend sessions.
