Dr. James Caldwell joined the faculty in 2009 as an Assistant Professor of Management in the Department of Management and Marketing in the Donald L. Harrison College of Business at Southeast Missouri State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida. He received a Master of Business Administration from Willamette University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Utah Valley University.
James has a balanced background of both industry and academic experience. He spent 10 years in the personal care products, software, semi-conductor, and training and development industries. During that time he worked for corporations including Corel, Novell, Intel and FranklinCovey.
His primary research interests include behavioral ethics, organizational justice, and leadership. He currently has a publication of ethical decision-making models pending and has presented his research at the Academy of Management Annual Meetings, Society for Business Ethics Annual Meeting and the QUIS 10 International Research Symposium.
James teaches courses in strategic management, business ethics, international business, as well as a variety of organizational behavior topics.
He is a member of the Academy of Management, Southern Management Association, Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Society for Business Ethics, Society for Human Resource Management, and Beta Gamma Sigma.
In his spare time, James enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, and almost anything in the outdoors.
