Departmental Accreditation Makes Headlines in St. Louis Post Dispatch

Accredited Program is Top Reason to Attend Southeast Missouri State University

Southeast Missouri State University's one-half page display advertisement in The St. Louis Post Dispatch  Friday, Oct. 28, highlighted the accredited program in mass communication.  

The bulleted point in the newspaper stated:  "Southeast is one of fewer than 20 institutions nationwide to have elite ACEJMC accreditation in Mass Communication -- in areas of advertising, journalism, public relations, and radio and video production. The only other accredited Missouri institution is the University of Missouri-Columbia."

In an e-mail to the department faculty, Dr. Stuart Towns, chairperson of the Department of Communication, said, "Colleagues: take a look in [the] Post-Dispatch - we are highlighted! Brag a little!"    

In that same edition of The Post Dispatch, another article highlighted the Department of Communication.  It was an article written about Matt Kruszynski, a radio major who interned with the Cardinals' radio network.
