Admission

Individuals admitted to the MBA program must have an undergraduate degree in AACSB accredited business program or the equivalent from an accredited institution. Students without this undergraduate knowledge base in business and economics will be admitted to the program after the successful completion of necessary background course work.

Necessary course work

  1. Meet all School of Graduate Studies admissions requirements.
  2. Score at least 1000 using the following formula: Score = 200 x GPA (on a 4 point scale) + GMAT score. (When it is not possible to interpret academic eligibility by way of transcript, the graduate business program reserves the right to request further evidence of academic eligibility.)
  3. Have a score of 450 or above on the GMAT test for regular admission or 400 to 450 for provisional admissions. (effectivebeginning Fall 2011 admissions) Provisional admitted students must complete their first 9 hours of course work, including at least 6 hours at the 600 level, with a grade of "B" or better. (Students not meeting this requirement are subject to dismissal from the program.)
  4. Grade of at least "C" required on all undergraduate foundation (prerequisite) courses required for regular admission to the MBA. (All undergraduate requirements for admission shall be satisfied before enrolling in the MBA required core, or MBA elective courses.)
  5. All international applicants must provide a TOEFL score of 550 (written), 213 (computer based or 79 internet based).

Under extraordinary circumstances, students not satisfying the admission requirements outlined above may be admitted on a conditional basis upon the recommendation of the Graduate Programs Committee, the Director of the MBA Program and endorsement of the Dean of the Donald L. Harrison College of Business. These exceptions will be based upon admissions interview and written statement explaining the nature of the managerial experience and what was learned from the managerial experience.

**International students applying with a three year degree must have their transcripts evaluationed by an
outside agency such as WES (www.wes.org) or NACES (www.naces.org) for equivalency.**
