Redhawks Kids Camp Counselors [pdf] Complete the application packet and return to the Recreation Services main office (Student Recreation Center - North). Applications must be turned in by April 3rd. Selected candidates will be called to set up an interview during the week of April 6th-10th.
FALL 2009 Intramural Student Sport Coordinator • Responsible for the oversight of 3-5 Intramural Leagues per semester; including scheduling games and hiring, training, supervising and scheduling officials • Assigned to Supervise one of these three areas - Intramural Supervisors, Office Staff or Field Staff • Preferred experience in sports officiating, supervising staff and excellent customer service skills • To apply complete a Recreation Services application, cover letter, and resume • Applications due by Friday April 17th to Jen Rose at the Student Recreation Center North.
Intramural Sports Supervisor Intramural (IM) Sports Supervisors oversee events and activities including team, dual and individual sports. This consists of the set-up for the event, game management and staff advisement, and ability to manage risk, conflicts, etc. IM Supervisors are expected to be courteous to all spectators, participants and staff, be able to make sound decisions, and be positive and remain focused. Prior officiating experience preferred. To apply complete a Recreation Services application, cover letter and resume. SUMMER and FALL 2009 Low Ropes Course Facilitator Recreation Services has just completed construction on a new 12-element ropes course on campus. We are in need of “Facilitators” to assist when groups and individuals go through the course. We are looking for students that have: • Excellent verbal communication skills • Dependable and hard working • Experience with ropes courses/outdoor adventure programs preferred • Candidates must be in good physical condition • Candidates must enjoy the outdoors and be willing and required to attend mandatory training program (hosted at SEMO) If this sounds like something you would love to do, please contact Eric Redinger, Assistant Director in Recreation Services, at 651-2471 or email him at eredinger@semo.edu. Lifeguards Still Needed Recreation Services has lifeguarding opportunities for the summer and fall, 2009. Lifeguards must be certified (We are a Red Cross program but can assist Ellis and YMCA or other nationally certified guards in the transition). Shifts are available throughout each weekday and weekends. In 2007, we employed over 135 different students to assist us in the many programs and facilities that we manage. In the past 10 years, we have paid out over $1,000,000.00 to SEMO students in the form of salary for positions we administer. Many students feel that they can work close to their residence hall, off-campus apartment, etc. We are “close to home” and provide an assortment of hours (we are operational 5:00am-11:00pm most days of the week and almost the same amount of hours over the weekend!) to students.

What’s In It For you? As an employee with Recreation Services, the benefits are many: Most positions start at minimum wage, but selected positions make much more hourly. A yearly merit raise in salary. The longer you stay with us, the more you earn! Scheduling flexibility – we are open many hours in several different facilities. Ease of getting to work – we are on campus and close to many off-campus apartments. The ability to work with a diverse population and “hone” your overall customer service skills. Paid training in most situations (including mandatory CPR/AED training and sometimes first aid certification!)

Complete any paperwork as required by the Office of Student Financial Services (tax paperwork, etc.)
