Redhawks Kids Camp (RKC) is designed for children entering grades 1-6 in the Fall of 2018. Campers must have completed kindergarten and may not have started grade 6.
Redhawks Kids Camp is a very active day camp, full of fun games, activities, water games, and swimming. Specific activities vary on a day to day basis, and theme weeks all lend to a fun “not boring” camp. Our camp counselors are Southeast Missouri State University students, and have the energy to match the campers. We keep to a low camper to counselor ratio.
We will be swimming or utilizing a water themed activity nearly every day, weather-permitting, so a swimsuit and towel will be needed daily (see “What to Bring” section).
When weather permits, we will try to be outside as much as possible. Campers will be walking to various locations on campus for presentations, tours, and other educational features. We also utilize shuttle busses to transport campers off campus for field trips.
The RKC “Headquarters” will be the Student Recreation Center (750 New Madrid).
In the event that the University would need to cancel your designated camp a full refund will be returned back to participant and/or family in the form of a University check. In the event that you, the participant, and/or family would need to cancel your registration, you will receive a full refund up until 4 weeks from the camp. If you cancel within 4 weeks of the camp you will receive partial refund. Late cancellations fee is $50.00 from your camp registration cost.
Payment is due at time of registration.
If you would like to pay by cash, check, or University Charge please stop by the Student Recreation Center Main Office, Room 101 to register.
Campers will need to bring the following items on a daily basis to each camp day:
We ask that campers do NOT bring money or items of value:
All RKC staff will be certified in adult and child CPR, AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) First Aid,
An RKC staff member will be accessible via telephone the entire camp day. (573) 651-2147 is the RKC headquarters phone number.
As we walk to points on and close to campus, campers will be led by student counselors and walk in groups at all times. All Campers will need to be signed out by a selected parent or guardian and that person must show a photo ID, or we must have the ID on file in order to take their child away from camp at the end of each day. There will be no exceptions to this rule. Please do not forget your ID.
Once registered, all parents/guardians will receive a copy of the “RKC Parent Guide” which contains more detailed camp information.
