Greek Life Sounds Greek to you? You’ll make lifelong friendships, have leadership opportunities and enjoy friendly rivalries during Homecoming and Greek Week. Annual Greek Week activities include tug-of-war competitions, food drives, Greek Sing, academic recognition receptions and Special Olympics. As a member of a fraternity or sorority, you also are eligible to live in renovated Group Housing, an area of campus in which many Greek members live. When can you “go Greek”?
If you have any questions regarding your ability to join a fraternity or sorority at Southeast, please contact us at (573) 651-2280 or via e-mail at greeklife@semo.edu. To register for fraternity or sorority recruitment, go to www.semogreeks.com. Are there different types of organizations?
Yes! At, Southeast, there are three types of Greek councils, which are referred to as the Interfraternity Council (IFC), Panhellenic Council and the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC). The IFC and the Panhellenic Association serve as the governing body for the fraternities and sororities, respectively. The NPHC is a national coordinating body for the historically African American fraternities and sororities at Southeast. Each group has different eligibility requirements and is unique in its membership, tradition, scholarship and social activities.
