Substance Awareness Prevention and Education

In response to COVID-19, our office will be maintaining the option for Teleconsult services (via Zoom, telephone, email, or similar service). We will also be offering limited face to face sessions if agreed upon by both counselor and client. Face coverings are mandatory for these services, as well as temperature checks/screenings upon entry of our office.

Hours of Operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the exception of Spring Break and Summer, in which our office will close at 4:00 p.m. Please be advised that our office will be closed anytime the University is closed.

Substance Awareness Prevention and Education (SAPE) services are available to students, faculty and staff. A variety of educational programs, individual counseling, and prevention activities can be provided upon request. A sampling of the services and related topics addressed through SAPE are as follows:

Alcohol eCHECKUP TO GO is a brief online questionnaire that provides private, personalized feedback regarding your use patterns and frequency. The program also compares your alcohol use to that of other students and provides weekly, monthly, and annual estimates spent on alcohol. The information is then presented in a way that encourages you to make choices that align with your personal aspirations and goals.
