Offering a nationally certified College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) tutorial program to Southeast students. Students can receive scheduled one-on-one and small group tutoring from trained Learning Assistants in courses ranging from mathematics to chemistry.
Through collaborative learning techniques and structured group study sessions, SI Leaders currently provide assistance for General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics I & II and Anatomy and Physiology I & II. Sessions are offered throughout the week, with SI Leaders working directly with faculty to develop study materials related to those courses.
Offered each semester to futher students' development skills in academic and personal enrichment areas. Sample topics include: note taking, time management, self-advocacy, diversity, understanding lecture notes and basic computer skills.
The Academic Improvement Plan (AIP) offers individualized academic support for students re-admitted into Southeast who failed to successfully complete Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). Students are required to meet with a designated staff member to complete a College Success Plan (CSP) for the first eight weeks of the semester.
Students work individually with a staff member to design a plan for academic and personal success. Plans are typically designed to be implemented over eight to twelve weeks and cover topics necessary for student success including planning, class preparation, campus community involvement and an overview of academic skills.
